About the firm

Personal attention from the attorney you hire

HZ Counsel was founded by Billy Hernandez, a practicing Florida attorney, to offer a more direct kind of legal service. When you work with HZ Counsel, you work with Billy — not a rotating team — from the first conversation to the final signature.

The practice is intentionally focused: estate planning, residential real estate, and document review and drafting. That focus means careful work, clear explanations, and transparent expectations at every step.

“Good legal work should leave you with clarity, not more questions.”

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a will or a trust?

It depends on your family, your property, and your goals. Many Floridians benefit from a revocable trust to help avoid probate, while a will may be enough for others. We’ll walk through the differences together during your consultation.

Can you review a real estate contract before I sign?

Yes. Having an attorney review a purchase or sale contract before you sign can help you understand your obligations, deadlines, and options if something goes wrong.

Do you offer services in Spanish?

Yes. Consultations and explanations of your documents are available in English or Spanish.

Does submitting the form make me a client?

No. Contacting HZ Counsel does not create an attorney-client relationship. A relationship is formed only after a conflict check and a signed engagement agreement.
